I propose to take Questions Nos. 458 and 459 together.

International students from outside the EU/EEA are granted a permission on Stamp 2 conditions where they have enrolled on, and commenced a course listed on the Interim List of Eligible Programmes (ILEP) issued by the Department of Education and Science.

A stamp 2A permission is granted where a person has enrolled in full time study in Ireland for a course that is not on the ILEP, for a specified period.

The table below details the number of individuals granted a student immigration permission from 2019 to 2024.

The figures provided include both first time registrations and renewals of registration granted in the year.

Information regarding the educational institution a person is attending is recorded on each individual applicant’s file and is not available in a manner which allows detailed data to be extracted in the manner sought by the Deputy.
