To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the rationale for the overall reduction in support for the investment aid for the development of the commercial horticulture sector and the investment aid for innovation and diversification in horticulture, which this year amounts to a combined amount of €8.5 million in contrast to the €11.35 million funding allocation last year; and if he will make a statement on the matter. €8.5 million has been allocated for horticulture in 2025, which will support growers and the sector to reach the ambition set out in the National Strategy for Horticulture 2023-2027.
Separately horticultural growers who planted and declared field grown food crops in 2024 on their BISS application will also benefit from the €100/hectare payment announced as part of Budget 2025.
