I can inform the Deputy that the immigration permission of the person concerned expired on 13 September 2024.

In order to work in Ireland a non-EEA national must have an employment permit granted by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE) or an immigration permission issued by my Department which allows the holder to engage in employment, such as a Stamp 2, Stamp 1, Stamp 1G or Stamp 4.

It is open to the person concerned to apply to the Domestic Residence and Permissions Division of my Department for an extension of their student conditions in order to acquire an employment permit. Applications can be submitted via the online forms system:

If the person concerned obtains an extension of their student permission or an employment permit issued by DETE, then they can apply to renew their immigration permission online using the Immigration Service Delivery online renewal portal.

Queries in relation to the status of individual immigration cases may be made directly to my Department by email using the Oireachtas Mail facility at IMoireachtasmail@justice.ie, which has been specifically established for this purpose. This service enables up to date information on such cases to be obtained without the need to seek information by way of the Parliamentary Question process. The Deputy may consider using the email service except in cases where the response is, in the Deputy's view, inadequate or too long awaited.
