66. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment the number of WTE fisheries officers employed by Inland Fisheries Ireland in 2022, 2023 and to date in 2024, in tabular form; and if this number will be further increased before the end of 2024. [39251/24]

The information requested in the Question, which has been provided by Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI), is set out in the table below:

Number of Fisheries Officers Employed | 124 | 129 | 127 |
IFI also employ approximately 40 Seasonal Fisheries Officers each year, in addition to the numbers above, for a 6-month period from April to October.
The number of Fisheries Officers is not expected to increase before the end of 2024.
