Disability Allowance (DA) is a weekly allowance paid to people with a specified disability who are aged 16 or over and under the age of 66. This disability must be expected to last for at least one year and the allowance is subject to a medical assessment, means test and Habitual Residency conditions.

Following a review of their continued entitlement to a Disability Allowance payment, the person concerned was notified in writing on 10 July 2024 that they were no longer entitled to this payment as they failed to show that their means did not exceed the statutory limit in this case. The person was also notified of their right to a review of the decision by a Deciding Officer and / or their right to appeal the decision to the Social Welfare Appeals Office.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the deputy.
