In December 2023, I announced the successful applications that are approved funding under my Department's Multi-annual Rural Water Programme for the waste water collection and treatment needs for villages without access to public waste water services.
Following the announcement, my Department wrote to Clare County Council confirming approval of funding for projects in the villages of Broadford and Cooraclare.
Since then my Department has facilitated significant engagement between the key stakeholders involved, Clare County Council and Uisce éireann, to outline and agree the next steps required to commence and deliver these projects to completion as quickly as possible.
Each local authority has a Rural Water Liaison Officer (RWLO) who is responsible for the day to day implementation of the projects being funded under the Programme. The officer can be contacted at the Rural Water Section of the relevant local authority, in this case Clare County Council.
