*An additional €1,900,000 in once-off funding was also provided in 2020 as part of wider Government efforts to support public bodies during Covid restrictions. This is not represented in the above total.
Under my term as Minister, TG4 has been provided with substantial additional resources, with a total increase of €19.8 million in funding being provided over the lifetime of this Government. This is a 53% increase on the level of funding TG4 had in 2020.
This significant increase in the level of funding has enabled TG4 to continue their provision of high-quality Irish language public service content. It has also allowed for the establishment of Cúla4, the first dedicated Irish language children’s TV channel.
