215.To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform what works or proposed works have been undertaken on the Wicklow Town courthouse; what the future plans are for this premises, whether he has been in discussion with the Courts Service regarding the reinstatement of this building for the purposes of courts services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Wicklow Town Courthouse is the property of the Courts Service. The Office of Public Works (OPW) have carried out minor roof repairs and intend to proceed with a full roof upgrade project on behalf of the Courts Service, following a tender process and subsequent approvals. OPW have initiated a cost benefit analysis to advise the Courts Service on the estimated budgets required to re-develop the complex, to support the decision making around the viability of reinstating the court activity on site. The re-instatement of the Wicklow Town Courthouse is ultimately a matter for the Courts Service to decide.
