155. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if consideration has been given to facilitating the "walk around test", which is required as part of the process of acquiring a category D driving licence to drive a bus, to be taken immediately after an applicant passes the driving test itself; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the National Driver Testing Service and the information requested is held by that agency. As such, I have referred the questions to the RSA for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
