I welcome the recent publication by the Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media on Working Conditions and Skills shortages in Ireland’s tourism and hospitality sector.

The Report makes recommendations which pertain to the responsibilities and functions of a number of Government Departments and agencies and requires detailed consideration by officials in my Department in consultation with those Departments and agencies. In that regard, my Department has written to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to commence that engagement. I will respond in detail to the Joint Committee when the engagement has been completed.
