4. To ask the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence the reason a German Navy aircraft (details supplied) was at Baldonnell Aerodrome on 20 February 2020; if this was in connection with the large NATO exercise Defender 2020; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2757/20]

I wish to advise the Deputy that all foreign military aircraft wishing to overfly or land in this State require the permission of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade. This procedure was followed for the aircraft in question and it was facilitated for landing at Casement Aerodrome.
