199. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the position of his Department with regard to the recommendations of the Employment Appeals Tribunal on the use of summer holidays in the context of maternity leave; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [48672/19]

Following legal advice my Department has appealed the decisions of the Employment Appeals Tribunal referred to by the Deputy. 

As the decisions are now the subject of ongoing legal proceedings it would not be appropriate for me to comment further.
