578. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his plans to encourage Bus Éireann to facilitate customers that want to bring their bikes onboard buses through the use of an online reservation system similar to that used by Irish Rail; and his views on the removal of the €10 charge on a single journey that is currently applied. As the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. However, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
The issue raised is an operational matter for Bus Éireann and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the company for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
