1436. To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the estimated full-year cost if the funding for each national cultural institution is increased by 12%; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14151/19]

The estimated full year cost of a 12 % increase in the 2019 allocations to National Cultural Institutions is EUR5.69 million. This would mean an increase in the total allocations to National Cultural Institutions from EUR 47.44 million in 2019 to EUR53.14 million.

This Government is committed to increasing funding for the cultural sector which is of intrinsic value to this country. The overall allocation to the bodies in question has increased by over 20% since 2015.
