252. To ask the Minister for Finance if the Comptroller and Auditor General carried out an audit of procurement of ships by the Department of Defence in either 2011 or 2012. [1653/19]

To ask the Minister for Finance if a recommendation was made within the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General in 2011 or 2012 that a report into procurement by the reporting division into multi-million euro procurement by the Department of Defence should be conducted; if such a report was carried out; and if not, the reason therefor. The Comptroller and Auditor General is independent in the exercise of his functions and therefore my Department does not have the details requested.

The Deputy may wish to raise the matters directly with the Comptroller and Auditor General.
