244. The school referred to by the Deputy has already received the grant funding in question. The relevant start-up grant is provided at the time of the establishment of a new ASD class in a school for the purpose of setting up that class. It is a once-off grant in that context and has been provided to the school in respect of all the ASD classes sanctioned for it. Therefore, the Department is not in a position to provide a further grant.
