To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection when an illness benefit payment for a person (details supplied) will be normalised; the status of changes to the system which has resulted in delayed or irregular payments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Illness Benefit claim for the person concerned was certified and paid up to the 18th of November 2018.

If he remains ill and unfit for work, a further medical certificate should be submitted to the Department as soon as possible in order for further payments to issue.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
