436. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment if a member of the NBP tender evaluation team in his Department accompanied him to a meeting with a person (details supplied) in New York in July 2017; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [41247/18]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 430 and 436 together.

While visiting New York from 16 to 18 July 2018, to address the United Nations on Ireland’s progress towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, the Irish delegation, including myself, was invited to attend a dinner hosted by the McCourt family.

I attended this dinner accompanied by my Private Secretary, by an Official from the Sustainable Development Division of my Department (Principal Officer) and my two Special Advisers. No official from the National Broadband Plan Division was in attendance as this was not an arranged meeting to discuss the National Broadband Plan.
