540. To ask the Minister for Rural and Community Development when the next progress report will be published on the Realising our Rural Potential – Action Plan for Rural Ireland in view of the fact that these were promised on a six monthly basis and the last report was published in August 2017; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department is currently finalising the second six-monthly Progress Report on the implementation of the Action Plan for Rural Development. The report will be published shortly.
The Action Plan for Rural Development provides a framework for a coordinated approach across Government to improving the quality of life of people who live in rural Ireland through economic and social progress. The recently published National Development Plan underpins the Action Plan for Rural Development by providing an additional €1 billion in funding for a new Rural Regeneration and Development Fund over the next ten years.
