690. To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if she has satisfied herself that an altered application by Inland Fisheries Ireland (details supplied) complies fully with all current national, EU, and international legislation relating to such foreshore licence applications; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 690 and 691 together.

I understand that the matters raised in the questions relate to a foreshore application by Inland Fisheries Ireland in connection with the continuation of a research study on the movements and migrations of juvenile salmon and sea trout into and through Galway Bay. As consideration of foreshore licenses is a matter for my colleague the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government under the relevant legislation, questions in relation to compliance with legislation are not a matter for the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional. Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs but for the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government.
