237. To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if her Department has been in contact with the Department and Minister of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government regarding concerns conveyed to her Department by the public over the past number of months regarding possible non-compliance with national and EU environmental legislation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department maintains frequent contact with the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government in regard to environmental matters, including the provision of advice on matters where I, as Minister, am a statutory consultee.

This contact can and does include matters which are the subject of communications from members of the public which may relate to areas which are the responsibility of other Departments.
