To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason correspondence dated 24 October 2016 and 13 December 2016 which was submitted to his Department by a person (details supplied) has not been replied to to date; the reason the person has not been paid their single farm payment and areas of natural constraint payments which are due to them for 2016 and which have been clarified in the course of an appeal hearing; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application under the 2016 Basic Payment/Areas of Natural Constraints Scheme was received in my Department from the person named on 12 May 2016. He declared a number of forestry parcels on this application. During the annual validation process for all applications, it was necessary for my Department to confirm the eligibility status of these parcels under the Basic Payment Scheme. As part of this process the correspondence received from the person named is currently under review.
