622. To ask the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation the supports and human and financial resources provided by the State to the south east to support tourism as an economic driver; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [29500/16]

The question of the allocation of resources to support tourism is a matter for my colleague, Mr. Shane Ross, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport.
From the perspective of the South East Action Plan for Jobs, tourism is one of the key sectors targeted as part of the Plan. The Plan contains measures to deliver 300,000 extra tourists and 5,000 associated jobs, including developing Ireland’s ancient East and focusing on cross/county initiatives.
