229. To ask the Minister for Social Protection if payment of the back to work family dividend scheme will be backdated to January 2015, when the form was first submitted, as opposed to March 2015 when it was received, in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Back to Work Family Dividend (BTWFD) scheme gives financial support to people with qualified children who are in or take up employment or self-employment and as a result stop claiming a jobseeker's payment or a one-parent family payment (OFP) on or after 5 January 2015.
While the person concerned completed the BTWFD application form in January 2015, she continued to be in receipt of an OFP payment until 5 March 2015. Consequently, there are no grounds to back-date the BTWFD payment further.
