417. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine further to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 343 and 344 of 12 May 2015, if he is aware that the person (details supplied) in County Westmeath actually applied for the herd number to the relevant district veterinary office on 24 April 2014, and a copy of the said application is available to prove same; if, in this context, this decision will be reviewed, with a view to ensuring that the person obtains a payment for 2014 under the single payment scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The person named submitted a 2014 Single Farm Payment/Disadvantaged Areas’ scheme application on 15 May 2014. The Terms and Conditions of the 2014 Single Farm Payment Scheme provide that applicants hold a registered herd number or have applied to the local District Veterinary Office for a herd number on or before 15 May 2014. The District Veterinary Office has confirmed to us that the person named applied for a herd number on 22 May 2014.
The person named was informed of his right to appeal this decision within three months of being notified of the position on 15 May 2015. To date no such appeal has been received.
