165. To ask the Minister for Health as the Minister with responsibility for public health if he will allow a company (details supplied) to continue to head up research seeking to identify potential impacts on human and public health associated with unconventional gas exploration, extraction projects and operations; whether he is satisfied that there is no conflict of interest created by allowing a service provider for the shale gas industry to be responsible for heading up a detailed examination of successful mitigation measures to counteract the impacts of unconventional gas exploration, extraction projects and operations on public health; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
