538. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills her plans to extend the library in the University of Limerick in view of the fact that the current student to seat ratio within the UL library is 12 students per seat, with the national average being 5.5 students per seat; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that €10m will be made available next year for the library project to which he refers. This project is designed to meet requirements for additional library space and information services at University of Limerick.

The UL library project is one of the three major capital projects in Irish universities which will benefit from the €20m of funding in 2015 that formed part of my budget announcement on Tuesday, 14th October.
