The details requested by the Deputy are not held by my Department and are a matter for the individual Local Authorities.  However, in 2013, my Department provided funding to a number of Local Authorities under the Smarter Travel Programme to support walking and cycling. This funding was provided to support the delivery of cycling infrastructure and behavioural change measures. Details of funding under the various programmes are outlined in the table below.

Funding for the delivery of public transport infrastructure, including the provision of cycle lanes in the Greater Dublin Area (GDA) and the regional cities is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have asked them to reply to you directly on this matter.

Local Authorities may also have received funding from other sources and this information, in addition to the details required in relation to off-road cycle tracks can be obtained by contacting the Authorities directly.
