548. To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality if the €1 million plus sum of money seized near Castleconnell, County Limerick recently is deemed by Criminal Assets Bureau to belong to the State; if it will be allocated to organisations in Limerick dealing with the scourge of drugs; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy will appreciate the question relates to a matter which is the subject of ongoing investigation and in such circumstances it would not be appropriate for me to comment further on this matter. More generally, with regard to the destination of monies collected by the Criminal Assets Bureau, I can inform the Deputy that all such monies are returned to the Exchequer in accordance with the provisions of the Proceeds of Crime Acts 1996 and 2005.
