The Department of Education and Skills funds a wide variety of education and training provision in Dublin's north inner city. City of Dublin VEC and FAS, for example, both provide various flexible education and training options for both lone parents and the unemployed depending on the needs of the individuals involved. The exact nature of the education and training interventions required depend on the requirements of the individual concerned as well as the nature of the referral from the Department of Social Protection.
