To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the numbers of capital work contracts for school buildings and school extensions that have gone to successful tender for 2011, 2012 and to date in 2013; the companies that were awarded the contracts; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The information requested by the Deputy is contained in the following tables. In summary, 58 contracts for major school building projects were awarded in 2011. In 2012, 34 contracts for major school building projects were awarded. To date in 2013 there have been 10 contracts for major projects which successfully completed the tender process and there are a further 19 projects currently out to tender. Information, including contractor details, in relation to major projects on the 5 year construction programme is provided on my Departments web-site and is updated regularly.
