I am informed by Waterways Ireland that it grants leases to third parties, who wish to develop marinas requiring access to Waterways Ireland’s property. The application process for obtaining such a lease is available on the Waterways Ireland website at .
I am advised that where applications are successful, the lease permits the marina owner to develop and sell private moorings, with the annual lease fee payable to Waterways Ireland based on a percentage of the value of the annual mooring income.
