To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will provide a breakdown of the funding provided through his Department, in each of the last five years, to each sporting organisation who had athletes representing Ireland at this year's Olympic games; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Irish Sports Council, which is funded by my Department, is the statutory body with responsibility for the promotion, development and co-ordination of sport, including the allocation of current expenditure funding to National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs).

I have referred the Deputy's question to the Irish Sports Council for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a reply has not been received within ten days.

The Irish Sports Council, which is funded by my Department, is the statutory body with responsibility for the promotion, development and co-ordination of sport, including the allocation of funding to National Governing Bodies of Sport and for the High Performance Programme.

I am informed by the Irish Sports Council that they are carrying out a full review of the performances at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Following the completion of a tender process, consultants have been appointed to undertake a full debrief of the Olympic programme with the National Governing Bodies. A similar process of debrief will be undertaken for the Paralympic Sports. Recommendations from the debriefs will be factored into the performance plans of each targeted sport for the next Olympic cycle, up to Rio de Janeiro in 2016. It is expected that the review process will be completed and presented to the Board of the Irish Sports Council in December.

To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will recommend to the high performance units of all sports that each considers implementing a model similar to that used by the Irish Amateur Boxing Association HPU and that each reports back with a feasibility study; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The development of High Performance Plans by NGBs is a matter for the Irish Sports Council. I have referred the Deputy's question to them for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a reply has not been received within ten days.
