Question 199: To ask the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if she will confirm that the Office of the National Direction, Children and Family Services Health Service Executive, the policies and systems that have been introduced for dealing with the adoption files transferred from the Sacred Heart Adoption Society, Cork, to the HSE are discriminatory to adopted persons who are trying to access their file on the basis of the age of the adopted person, the age of the natural mother and the health of the adopted person; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond directly to the Deputy in relation to this matter.
