Question 836: To ask the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kildare has to have a prescription signed twice before they can have it processed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [40899/11]

In order to obtain their medicines free of charge under the GMS scheme, medical card holders who are prescribed medicines at out-patient clinics are required to have a GMS prescription completed by their General Practitioner.
