An application for domiciliary care allowance (DCA) was received for the person in question on the 5th August 2011. This application was referred to one of the Department's Medical Assessors who found that the child was not medically eligible for the allowance. A letter issued on the 18th October 2011 refusing DCA and informing the applicant of her right to appeal the decision. To date no appeal has been registered by the Social Welfare Appeals Office.
