Question 128: To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if he has given any consideration to having a voluntary national redeployment panel for teachers who are employed by vocational education committees and who wish to transfer from one VEC district to another; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The current redeployment arrangements apply in schools and VECs who have a surplus of permanent and/or CID holding teachers. The redeployment scheme that was introduced this year includes provision for further discussions with the relevant stakeholders in Autumn 2011 with a view to having a pilot scheme in operation as soon as is practicable for transfers on a voluntary basis.
