Responsibility for the Coastal Protection Programme transferred to the Office of Public Works (OPW) on 1st January 2009 and, as such, queries in relation to the Programme from that date onwards should be directed to the OPW. The budget allocation for the Coastal Protection Programme for 2008 was €3.037 million.

The budget allocations for Foreshore Development for 2008, 2009 and 2010 were €1.3 million, €1.292 million and €0.038 million, respectively. Responsibility for most Foreshore functions transferred to Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (DEHLG) with effect from 15th of January, 2010.

The figures for foreshore development for 2008 and 2009 include refundable deposits for windfarm licences.

Coastal Zone Management was the name of a Division in my Department prior to the transfer of functions to DEHLG on January 15th, 2010. However, excepting the administration costs for the Division, who work on other aspects of my Department's work also, the only budget assigned was that for Foreshore Development as set out above.
