The person named registered 43 beef breed calves under the 2010 Suckler Welfare Scheme. To date, payment has issued in respect of 19 registered animals. My Department established that 4 animals were sold with no Scheme event dates having been received and a letter issued on 23 December 2010 advising the person named of the situation in respect of these animals. Dates were provided for a further 20 animals, which indicated that the animals were weaned within eight weeks of birth. As this action breached the Terms and Conditions of the Suckler Welfare Scheme the person named has not received payment on these animals. The applicant submitted an appeal and the case is currently under review by my Department. A decision will be conveyed to the applicant shortly.
