I wish to advise the Deputy that in light of the current competing demands on the capital budget and due to the scale of demand for funding under the 2011 Summer Works scheme, unfortunately it was not possible to grant aid all applications. Applications for works in the higher categories of eligible works were prioritised and on this occasion, only applications for works in Categories, 1, 2 and 3 have been approved i.e. Gas, Electrical and Mechanical works.

A letter of appeal has been received in the School Capital Appraisal section of my Department on the 20th April, 2011. A full examination of the appeal will be carried out and the Board of Management of the school will be notified of the outcome once a decision has been reached.
