Question 478: To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation the supports given by State enterprise companies to a company (details supplied); the number of new jobs promised following recent investment announcements; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3682/11]

On 18th October 2010 the then Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, Mr Batt O'Keeffe, TD, announced that Hollister would invest €65 million in expanding its current manufacturing facility in Ballina, Co. Mayo. This major development project will add approximately 75,000 sq ft to the company's existing manufacturing facility in Ballina and will allow the creation of 250 new jobs upon completion. The expansion project will create in the region of 200 jobs over the period of construction. The investment is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland. As is normal, details of support to individual projects is not made public for reasons of commercial sensitivity and client confidentiality.

Hollister Incorporated is an independent, employee-owned company that develops, manufacturers, and markets health care products and services worldwide. Expansion of the company's Ballina facility will allow for increased manufacturing capability in both the company's Ostomy and Continence Care product ranges. The expansion will further support training and development for both new and existing employees. Hollister is a client company of IDA Ireland. IDA continues to work closely with the company in order to maximise investment for the area.
