As the Deputy may be aware, the 20-year Strategy for the Irish Language was approved by Government recently and will be published shortly. My Department is in regular contact with the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources on issues of mutual concern in relation to the Irish language and, indeed, the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources was involved in the formulation of the Strategy as a member of the Cabinet Committee on Irish and the Gaeltacht.
Issues regarding the Irish language in the media, including new electronic media, are addressed in the Strategy.
