Under the terms of the Civil Service Pension Scheme, all retiring Civil Servants are normally entitled to an annual pension and retirement lump sum based on final salary and years of service. The retirement lump sum is calculated at 3/80ths of pensionable remuneration for each year of reckonable service, subject to a maximum of 1 1/2 times final salary.

The total amount granted in lump sum payments to these officials was €1,246,330.77.
