Question 356: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the location where tenants who have been the subject to an eviction from a local authority property must present for accommodation; if he will identify the relevant support service to which they will be referred under the terms of the Pathways to Home document; and if he will make a statement on the matter. It is a statutory function of housing authorities to assist, provide or make arrangements for the provision of, accommodation for homeless persons, as defined in section 2 of the Housing Act 1988. I have no function in relation to specific aspects of local services. The operation and organisation of homeless services in Dublin is generally co-ordinated by the Homeless Agency, which is a partnership body involving the four local authorities and the HSE and operates under the aegis of a Board on which these and other relevant statutory agencies and non-government homeless service providers are represented. Under the Pathways to Home model, adopted by the Homeless Agency, every individual who is seeking accommodation due to homelessness, whether they were evicted or otherwise, will have their needs assessed by the relevant local authority and, subject to the outcome of their needs assessment, will be provided with appropriate accommodation.
