Question 352: To ask the Minister for Education and Science the closing date for receipt of tenders for the construction of the new national school for Kill, County Kildare; and if he will confirm that capital funding is available in 2009 for construction to commence. [47343/08]

I am pleased to advise that the tender process for Kill National School is well underway. I already announced on 29 September 2008 that the proposed new school at Kill, was one of 25 schools listed to proceed to tender and construction.

Question 353: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if he will sanction the appointment of a design team for the required extension to a school (details supplied) in County Kildare. [47350/08]

An application for additional classroom accommodation, general purpose room, ancillary accommodation and refurbishment of the existing building has been received from the authorities of the school in question. The progression of all large scale projects, including this project, will be considered in the context of the Department's multi-annual School Building and Modernisation Programme.
