Question 267: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government further to Parliamentary Question No. 493 of 30 September 2008, if his attention has been drawn to the foul smells which residents in the Drumillard area of Castleblayney have had to endure for many years and which have deteriorated recently; if he will make funding available to Monaghan County Council to address this issue and to upgrade the sewerage collection system in Castleblayney; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The operation, maintenance and management of the existing wastewater infrastructure in Castleblaney is a matter for the local authority, in this case Monaghan County Council.
In relation to the Castleblaney Sewerage Scheme, I refer to the reply to Question No. 493 of 30 September 2008. The position is unchanged.
