The number of new agencies created in my Department since 1997 is one. The Civil Defence Board was established on the 7th May 2003 following the enactment of the Civil Defence Act 2002. Prior to that date, Civil Defence had been a branch of my Department — the relevant staff transferred to the Civil Defence Board following its establishment.
Information requested by the Deputy on staffing levels and budgets is as follows:
Year | Budget since Establishment | Number of Staff |
€ | ||
2003 | 5,579,000 | 25 |
2004 | 5,593,000 | 22 |
2005 | 5,767,000 | 20 |
2006 | 5,928,000 | 21 |
2007 | 6,099,000 | 29 |
2008 | 6,248,000 | 28 |
