Question 478: To ask the Minister for Education and Science when tenders will be sought for a school (details supplied) in County Roscommon; if the school has been designated as being in a rapidly developing area; if consideration is being given to its inclusion in the next round of public private partnership projects; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The application for the school referred to by the Deputy is at an advanced stage of architectural planning. The progression of all large scale building projects, including this project, from initial design stage through to construction phase will be considered in the context of my Department's multi-annual School Building and Modernisation Programme. However, in light of current competing demands on the capital budget of the Department, it is not possible to give an indicative timeframe for the progression of the project at this time.

The school has not been designated as being in a rapidly developing area. This school is not being considered in the context of the next round of public private partnership projects as the project is already at an advanced stage of architectural planning and involves an extension to an existing school rather than a new build.
