Question 419: To ask the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the State sponsored bodies, quangos and other agencies within the remit of his Department that have the power to issue compulsory purchase orders; the number of CPOs that have been initiated by such agencies for the years 2005 to date in 2008; the purpose of such CPOs; the outcome in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Of the agencies under the aegis of the Department, only Fáilte Ireland has the power to issue compulsory purchase orders, but it has not exercised this power in the period in question.
