Question 179: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance the position in relation to the proposed construction of a new school (details supplied) in County Cork; if the Office of Public Works has carried out an examination of a site at Ringcurran, Kinsale, County Cork, which has been proposed by Cork County Council as a suitable location for the new school; if so, if the OPW's report is positively disposed toward this site; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Office of Public Works in Ireland acts as an agent for the Department of Education & Science in the acquisition of sites for schools. A Technical Assessment of the site has been completed; a Report will be forwarded to the Department of Education and Science in a matter of days for their further instruction.
